Have been on holiday for several days, and note on my return
that the temperature had dropped to 20C. No sure how long for
or indeed why. It could have been this low for several days, although
it is difficult to say.

I have tried to remedy the situation by conducting a 20% water change
and have increased the internal heater to increase the temperature.

I am worried about my angel fish, he is hiding behind the plants
- of which is rarely does. I also note that he is skimming the top
of the water. His eye is partially cloudy and one of this fins is closed,
stiff in the water and around the fins appear to be rather red in colour (
at the base of the fin).

My angel fish always eats plenty, again I am distressed to note that he
is not eating at all. He is rather old, though around 8 years.

I have put metaflex into the tank, the temperature appears to be getting to
around 24-26C (This has increased since I did the water change some 2
hours ago).

I am worried about angel - I think he may not last the night. Any help
or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

i presume you mean melafix. now the temperature is etting up things should start looking up. make sure you have no carbon in the tank. get the temperature up to about 28C. turn the lights off. test your water to make sure that there is little nitrate and no ammonia and nitrite.

Thanks ste2k3

I will do as suggested, on a different note i was in Monaco and i want to the Monaco Aquarium. I know you are into reefs ect..

I will post the pictures once my emergencies is over

Melafix was a good idea because low temperature can induce fungal infections and also ich. I think you've pretty much done what you can. Good luck!

I'v heard good and bad things aboutb the monico aquaium. i believe they do a 5% water chage every hour using the local seawater. (the monico aquarium is the one sited on the edge of a cliff or am i thinking of another aquarium  )

thanx

Still no change with angel

Last night put angel in the hospital tank, Have raised temp to 28c and added fin riot and melafix, I have also aqua salts. and an air stone. and stress coat. The
one fin is still clamped and red at base. Angel is not eating. How long is the treatment likely to take?

Appreciate the feedback.

Cheers
Jason

 Angle fins are looking a little better today :) :)

and she eat some fish flakes today, it really made my day!!! :)

I hope she will fully recover soon?

Great news Ob1. I've seen this thread just now and was bummed reading it til I got to this last post of yours.

Keep up with the meds and keep the water crystal clear so you don't have to worry about secondary infections.

Also, make sure you tell your fishies that they owe AA and ste2k3! ;)

:D  ;) :) :D :hyper:

Angle making really good progress, both fins are looking good.

I will continue the treatment for the rest of the week, I put aqua salts in the water. Will i need to duilte the remaining salts to ensure angle does not get stressed once I move her back into the main tank?

thanks all
