Alright, before I started my community tank, I did research on the types of fishes I wanted. The only thing was that when I got to the fish store, I saw the awesomely cool upside down catfish. I bought two, but one died on the way to school, so I have one. He hides under things all day long for the past month. He just sits there, under the rock and when I moved the rock, he moved back and forth between the plants and grass. Is this normal or should I get another Upside Down Catfish?

Here is a link with info and pics on them;

so you should get some more but only if you tank can fit them in- how many gallons is your tank?

I'd like to discuss some issues in your stocking though seriously;

1 Female Betta( 5 Coming )
2 Clown Loaches
4 Black Skirt Tetras
1 Bloodfin Tetra
3 Goldfishes
1 Upside Down Catfish
1 Tiger Barb ( Two Died )

The clown loachs- clown loach live for up to 40yrs and need a 60gallon tank although they only grow an inch a year they get to a foot long.
Black skrit and bloodifn tetra- tetras should be kept in groups of at least 6 of their own kind, so you need to boost both of your tetra species numbers if your tank can handle it.
Goldfish- under NO circumstances should you keep coldwater fish like goldifsh with tropical fish, its a slow and painful death for them and a miserable existance- people have coldwater and tropical fish tanks for good reasons otherwise we might as well put them all together.
Your upside down catfish needs more of its own kind as mentioned, what are you feeding it and your other fish currently?
Tiger barbs are notrious for being agressive and bullying towards other fish and should never be kept on their own and not mixed with the sorts of fish you have.

You have some major fish stocking issues im afraid and your fish are not happy, please refrain from making impulse purchases on fish you havn't researched thoroughly before hand in the future- how many gallons is your tank?

I have two 10 gallons. I gave away my Tiger barb because he was the only one, although he did use to hang out with my Clown Loaches. So far in I have 1 Upside Down Catfish, 1 Goldfish, and 4 Tetras. I have 6 x 1 Gallon tanks for all my bettas, and my Gouramis, Bloodfin and 2 Goldfishes are in another 10 Gallon.

So you've mixed coldwater species with tropical?? :X Do you have any idea what a bad idea that is? Coldwater and tropicals are different. As in cold water like cold water, tropicals don't!! It really is that simple. Keeping one type with the other is not going to work. They may seem ok right now but before long you're gonna have sick, dying and dead fish. Please, for the sake of the fish, take out one or the other. Also 10g tanks are never big enough for clown loaches. They get big!! I have 3 yoyo loaches and, although I was informed they grow slowly, they aren't. In fact they're growing rather fast! It doesn't matter in my tank. It's a 55gallon. Which is what your clowns will need.
I'm no expert but please research all your fish and see what it is they NEED. Everyone here, I am sure will help you with advise.
Hugs,
P.
P.S:BTW, if those bettas are all girls they can be kept together, given enough room and plants. I have 7 living together.

Also, most shops will sell almost anything from the synodontis family as upside down and the adult sizes range from 2 to 8". Getting a positive ID is a good idea on these from the site Toxis linked to.
