Upside Down Catfish - With Pic

what kind is it? ok being alone?  this little guy came in the tank i purchased. I did notice his tale is messed up. 
 
I was guessing it was a synodontis nigriventris
 
also, for the fish I recieved that are not compatible with the other fish....can I take them to a local pet store? I don't know how that works...

Its hard to tell? Is it out of the water? I would try to get a picture with him in the tank.

he is in the water.  I just realized the picture was upside down.  He hids a ton and is hanging out at the top of the aquarium.

is that the synodontis lace catfish? i got 3 of them they all hide all day until it gets dark they do hang upside down tho
