Currently in my 125 litre I have...

10 Neon Tetra
9 Pygmy Cory
5 Ember Tetra
3 Kuhlii Loach
2 Honey Gourami
3 African Dwarf Frogs

and they all seem to hang about in the lower to middle areas of the tank (as is their nature)so I was wondering if you folk had some suggestions as to fish who could populate the frankly sparse upper area of my tank.

All suggestions gratefully received.

Nick.

yeah hatchets, Id go for marbled hatchets in that tank :) Was going to say golden wonder killi but it could eat a few of your small tetras etc quite a few of your surface dwellers are predatory so I would stick with the hatchets :)

I do like the look of the hatchetfish I have to say, a little concerned about their jumping abilities but they are very distinctive looking.

I have some rainbow fish which fill the tank at all levels, but definitely middle to upper. They would be a little too large and active for a 125litre tank, but I wonder if any of the smaller ones such as the praecox may work. Perhaps someobe with a little more general rainbow knowledge than me could answer that.. Great fish rainbows, and extremely active.

Squid.

I have a yellow panchax (maybe golden wonder, but looks different) and he's pretty predatory. Had to move him into my kribs tank to stop him causing trouble.

Hatchets are a good idea. All surface dwellers are excellent jumpers.

Danios theoretically hang out near the surface too.

There are some smaller panchaxes I think - clown killifish, for example. Does he count as a panchax? Not sure. Awesome looking critter, though.
