I have my new 80 gallon ready I am upgrading from a 30 gallon. I have sevral corals and a few fish. I am going to give the corals to a friend to hold on to for a few months. Could anyone tell me if I should place the old water in my new tank or should I start from scratch? I currently have 50 ponds of live rock in my 30. I am going to get another 75 to 100 pounds more. Please let me know.

I would add the water from the old tank as this will be mature water and carry alot of things that will help seed the new tank faster.

Definatly use the old tank water & try no to let you original LR dry out any and Also make sure the LR you are getting is Fully Cured as if not you make cause a Spike
