Just wondering if anyone here had ever upgraded the powerhead in there juwel filter to get a higher flow rate? See if I decided to get a rio 180 I like the idea of replacing the bog standard 600lph power head and sticking in a 1500 for just £30 :) but of course I would have no idea if it would actually fit? One site says:

The Juwel 802 aquarium pump has a capacity of ca. 1500 litres per hour. As a spare part for your existing aquarium pump we provide you with all additional items you may need to get the optimum from your new pump: new diversion nozzles to direct the water emanating from the filter into the direction you want new power sockets to ensure that everything fits together in your JUWEL Aquarium Filter System. The aquarium pump will fit into the JUWEL Filter Systems Standard H and Jumbo.

Does that mean its only suitable for the 400/450 range? Or are the smaller models such as the 180 classed as H/Jumbo?

Any input will help im sure :)

If you go onto the juwel site and look at the tank you want and see what size filter comes with it, i think the body size with the juwel pumps is the same, plus it cant help to overfilter, tis always good.

Checked the juwel site, it comes with the 600 but want to upgrade, what I dont know is if the 1500 will actually fit, if you say that filter bodies are the same size and its just the flow rate that increases, that helps massively :) anyone else?

Hang on, the filter boxes are different. I can tell you that the jumbo is huge and the one that comes with the vision 180 is much smaller.

If you read on the juwel site it does say that you van just change the impellers to increase or decrease the flow.

Email them and ask your question.
