Updated "is This A Good Reef Protein Skimmer?"

I just bought this skimmer for my 80 gallon reef setup. I did some reasearch before hand and thught that this was a good buy. Is this a good skimmer for a reef set up this size? What do you know about it? Pro's and Con's.

ASM makes a fantastic skimmer, although IMO this one is a little undersized and overpriced. If you ask me you should be lookin for a G2 and be expecting to pay around $175 for it.

Where in the States are you from btw? Maybe we can hook you up with a local club so that you an buy something used and save a bunch of cash

I am from Stratford, Connecticut. I already bought the skimmer. I did not pay this much for it I just wanted to use a link to show what product I have. I think that I paid about $180 for it. The G2 was a little to tall for where I wanted to put it. Do you think that this might be a problem? Should I return it and go for the G2?

Heh, well if the G2 doesn't fit in the space, there's no point in buying it . About how much height are you looking to deal with?

I think that I have about 32" to use.
