Wet pets make the best Pets
Some of you might have seen my post before where I described a horrible case of either neglect or stupidity by someone who wisely decided to get rid of his fish as could not seem to keep them healthy. anyways... here's the original post I made: http/www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=157144
But there is a happy ending!!!! I went into the lfs to buy some algae wafers for my plec and bala's and figured I would stop in and see how they were doing. Well when I walked in, they weren't there! I found the closest person to the fish department I could find and asked right away, if someone had bought them. She answered yes and I was so glad. The 10" Oscar had made a full recovery and he was even getting a little swagger back as he would lunge at some customers she said as they walked by his tank. The girl said it was actually quite amazing; the large Oscar and the two smaller ones had been sold to seperate customers, but they were both bought within an hour of eachother... it was like someone wanted them to go together.
I was just so glad to hear that after the state that these fish came in from the conditions they had been kept in, that they were almost completely back to normal and people gave them homes.... granted I hope those people weren't just buying them to put them back into 30G aquariums, but I'm going to think positive and know that they have the best possible home now.
On a side note too.... the Jack Dempsey I referenced in the original post was still there . I feel so bad for him and wish I could give him a nice big tank and a female to make him happy. He is about 6 inches, a little thin for my liking, but still in good health. I hope someone buys him, I mean it's great that the Oscars got a new home, but it still makes me sad to know that guy has been there for quite awhile and nobody wants him .
