HI,
I was looking in my pond yesterdasy when in oticed some fish. I netted some and counted one stickleback,1 minnow and 14 small shiny bluey silver fish. They must have come in on birds feet or something as i built the pond and have never stocked with any fish. It was menat to be a wildlife pond and now it truly is. Has anyone else had this happen to them i'd be interested to know? Thanks

Free fish, are you going to keep them.

I have heard that birds can drop fish roe into ponds etc, maybe that is what happened here.
also fish eggs can come with plants, so if you added some it could've happened that way.

We have lived in our walled terraced house for 30 years and we now have toads in the garden! Do they climb walls?

They do climb walls. The house two doors down from my house ( on the right ) has a pond with frogs in it. To the left of my house is a river and every year (during the summer) we have a migration of frogs from the pond to the river. All the gardens are seperated by five foot old stone walls (about eight walls in total on their journy). Its nice to see that wildlife has a place even in the urban environment, its also a little extra work as I have to check for the little fellas before I cut the grass.

the blue-green fish you see are sunfish. they lay eggs on things that birds like ducks like to sit on in the water and the eggs stick to the ducks to help spread the species.

that is how most bodies of water have fish in them

That is so cool B)

I have heard of many instances like this. There was a cement tank near my home, (used for building repair work). It was filled with water, and kept unused for a week, and soon, we could see guppies in the tank.

And I had been to this college nearby, that had a pond, and there were wild fish in it. That was a really beautiful pond. I wish I had taken my camera.
