I have been trying to get my aquirium up and running smootly, but it is proving a little difficult, you see after my last aquarium with it cracking in the bottom i bought a new tank as a replacement and now, i got it working, set it up and all before christmas, put the fish in a few days before christmas eve... now they have been doing arlgith for themselves, i even went out and bought three new fish laterly, one angle fish, one bristle nose pleco and one bala shark, however there is this strange stuff on the inside of the glass, it aint algea, but like piece's of flowing flurry attached to the glass, and if i look REALLY closely, i can see tapol little creature with antener's out of its head and little things wizzing around and i dont have a clue what they are, whether they are dangerous, or harmless and will go away in time, or how to get rid of it, i went out and got a scraper but it wont get it all, and it takes one hell of a scrabbing job to get just a little off, somebody please help me out here???

Sounds like planaria, a sign of overfeeding or early - mid stages of cycling. Don't worry about them, the fish will eat them.

Have you cycled the tank?

And I see you mentioned bala shark, you do know they need to be in groups and need swimming space?

Yeah, i could only get one at the moment because i only had enough money for one at that time, i thought against it at first, but i got him as a test, and seriously, he is doing fine on his own, he seems to have grown to like the tank, at first he was timid, but now he will come up with the rest at feeding time...

Now for the feeding, i want some advise on this...

Normally, i give a small pinch of flake food, as well as two algae tablets and some sinking algae sticks, only a small pinched, which it like 6 or 7 tiny sticks... Now is this over doing it, because i actually fear under feeding my fish and them straving

If its all gone within three mins of putting it in then its ok. If you have picky feeders then watch them and make sure they get thier share.

Jon

Oh picky feeders aint the word, there are certain flakes that they dont eat, but i think you find the algae eaters find it when it settles and cleans up considering the fish seem to like the algae tablets more than the flake food, poor algae eaters hardly get anything at the end of it...

Thanks for your help, i just hope in time that it will return to normal
