Wow I didn't know they have rainbow sharks?! That's cruel they need like 50 gallons and are pretty aggressive

I’m not sure where you read that, but that is incorrect:

“The original zebrafish (or zebra danio, Danio rerio) is a native of rivers in Indiaand Bangladesh. It measures three centimeters long and has gold and dark blue stripes. As you can see, they were not made by accident. They were created on purpose, and I just think it’s cruel. The original fish is beautiful, and shame on anyone who says otherwise.

I didn't say it happened by accident. I said scientists used DNA from marine creatures to create the flourescence, to use fish to detect pollution in waters. Then that was also used to create fish for the pet trade. The first part, I agree with. The second part, I don't.

GloFish are more vulnerable to predation compared to the wild-type, according to a study published in 2011.

I misread...

They took the genes (or fluorescents) that originally came from jellyfish, to make the neon green look. (Which was their first one)

They then went on to making purple and other colors, using the genes from marine coral. (I just read the whole Wikipedia page, lol)
