this just grew on my live rock, i dont ever remember seeing it. doesnt look like it moves or anything. first thought was a nudibranch but i very doubt it. here are two pics, one with flash and one without. it's growing under my overflow box, so theres not really light down there. it's the white frilly thing right int he middle of the pic

this is another thing that i've never notced before. they look like brown hairy balls, they are growing right at the top in direct light.

hopefully neither of them are bad, if they are please tell me the best method to get rid of them.

First might be a type of sponge or coelenterate. The other thing looks like some sort of algae..but...hard to see. SH
 
I was just about to post that! Mine look almost the same but the top of yours is more frilly, mine looks almost like a feather duster ( its not a feather duster). I was not sure if i should remove them because it would mean moving the whole rockwork. Mine are spreading.....
 
did some research the white hairy thing seem to be sponges that like dark places and then the ones that look like pineapples are pineapple sponges ( there is another name but i forgot) they are filter feeders and are harmless. That what i read so far..
