Hi, I have a 55 gallon tank with 16 zebra danio, 4 pearl danios, 2 bronze corys, 4 peppered corys, 4 black tetra, 2 platies, and an assortment of guppies. I have recently just bought new guppies 2 weeks ago ( 2 females and 1 male) Well those two females are no dead...unknown but one was found torned up in the powerfilter anfd the other floating also torned up  But I had alreADY had a completlty healthy male is is now in my quaritine tank that seems to have multiple rips in his fin like slices continuing all the way from end to end of his tail. well his almost dead i think. Another grass-tail male has died and both of those females are dead. The total amount of guppies in my 55 gallon tank(not the fry who were just born 2 days ago that are in the net) is about 4 guppies.(2 F albino, one F snakeskin who just gave birth, and a blue tuxedo male)
I believe that if it is not fin rot or some kinfd od diesese it is a fin nipper that has killed them. I have seen the zebra danios rehase them and nip they/re tails but the black tetras(or black widow whater you call them) are the culprits because they are the biggest fish in the tank next to the peppered corys.....all help will appreciated  Please help ME! :-( Well, I dont know why but heres a pic of the aquarium.

Hi stubby - sorrry to hear of your losses :(

Have you got any water readings? Diseases are often brought on when something is wrong with the water...

Got a pic of the poorly fish?

If it is fin nipping then impecable water conditions will be neccessary to help them recover...

www :)

We need readings.
Sorry for what happened.

My black skirts/widows leave everything except for the fry alone. maybe you need more of them.

Are the attacks by the danios and the skirts vicious, or is it just territoriality?

I believe that the killings were caused by the guppies from the LFS. It caused all the deaths from the guppies I bought there plus my most beutifulest guppy(should've got a pic of him) but he bredd a few days before his death and now I have his offspring! But there have been no more deaths and the fish look heather!

sorry for such a late reply
But i was going through all of my old posts and i found this one! :D

It turns out that the deaths were caused by my black skirt tetra...They killed all of my zebra danios, all of my guppies, and all of my platies....i am actually planning to sell them back(along with my parrots) sometime this week.
