Unidentified Plant

Anyone no what this is or might be ive only ever seen this one which i happen to own ?

terrarium plant not even sure its semi aquatic its defo not a fully aquatic plant thats for sure if its in your tank it will rot and polute the water

its not aquatic... i had it in my tank died back.within 2 weeks. iv still got the stem of it took it out of my tank and planted it emersed ... its looking a little greener now but no new leaves yet...but im hoping it might come back

any "stemmy" plants are usually non aquatic, as aquatic plants don't need strong stems to support leaves. (just as a rule of thumb)

hmm not sure if that can be right as its been submersed for a long time in the fish shop and they had it in with some rare fish so dont think its going to polute the water and kill anything.

pollute as in ammonia spike i think he was on about... from the leaves rotting... its not a aquatic plant... it might be semi...

guess il just have to see how it goes if it rots badly il take it out but if not il let it stay cheers for the help

dont worry i think your fish are safe... i had the same plant and it died in my tank ... no fish deaths

It is not a caladium they are a bulb or tuber plant with heart shaped leaves, what you have (or had) looks more like a type of Irisine also known as Chicken guts. Definantly not an aquatic plant although it does like shaded moist conditions.

just asked on UKAPS and the guys on there say its a Fittonia verschaffeltii

thats definatly it thanks for all your help better plant it in the garden or just see how it goes as it seems to be floureshing quite well in my tank
