I was thinking earlier about a plenum... but then realised it was too complicated to try to attempt in a 20 gallon nano. So I thought maybe I could attach a powerhead to a hose and make a reverse undergravel filter, with holes in the hose for jets. It would push lots of water through the sand bed, giving lots of oxygen and nutrients to all the things living in it.

Would this be worth doing? Would it actually be beneficial at all?

Just a thought...
