Under Gravel Filter?

for my new set up i am thinking of putting an undergravel filter on it and bubbling air up through it, the tray would act as a weight disperser and should boost the biological filtration if i have a 2 inch sand bed? I need to know if its worth 10£ as I already have the airpump. Is this the monaco method?

udergravel filters are not suited to MArine setups, biological filtration is supplied Via Live rock
