Hey

Has anyone got any idea of how I can cut down the racket made by my Under Gravel Filter? It looks great with bubbly tubes up both sides, does a good job but my god, what a noise! What can I do????

:/

the problem is the air pump and not the UGF. you could either get a better air pump which would make less noise or you could get a couple of small powerheads which would do the job better and be vertually silent.

I agree. I switched to 2 powerheads (silent) and then 1 powerhead and an external fluval filter as the water was never 100% clear (gravel didn't trap smallest particles).

Still got 1 powerhead running now - makes no noise at all unless I use the venturi tube for blowing air into the water (I run an air pump and air stone overnight instead).
