After turning off the power, I removed some plants that were dying.I then put some new ones in, and spent a few minutes rearranging them.I took one of the new plants out to prune some poor looking leaves. I went to pick up the old plants, which were on the floor on a bag, when to my horror, noticed one of my rasboras lying still on the carpet.I gently picked him up,and he started flipping around.I put him back in the tank.He is swimming around, and looks ok.I don't know how long he was out of the tank, maybe anything from 1 - 4 minutes.. I can't understand how this happened. Will he be ok.Cheers for any opinion

It happens, he should be ok.

When I bought my rasboras, when I got them home, finished acclimatising and netted then out of the bag. Threw bag in the bin.

Looked around the tank and could only count 7, I was cursing the LFS for stiffing me for 1 Rasbora!! After about 10 minutes of thinking, thought Id double check the bag - low and behold one rasbora, no water, no air in a plastic bag in the bin.

Quickly tipped him in the tank - no ill effects, he still lives today :D

I`ve had a few fish go carpet surfing before and no problems

that's what happened to one of my neon a while ago-
i am relocating them to their new home and one got stucked in the
fishnet-- it's my son(2yrs. old) who saw the poor fella--
pick it up with his fingers - and gave it to me-- thought it's dead
but still swimmin' upto now-- :D

Thanks very much for the replies, very reassuring. Thanks again
