uk gallon vs us gallon

Hey now i know all you guys say you shouldn't keep a betta in anything less than a 1 gallon container, my question is do you mean a US gallon or a UK one because US ones are smaller?

(If it helps i know a UK gallon is equivalent to 4.54 litres)

Probably a US gallon. Hmm... so that makes it like a gallon and a quarter.

I bought a vase and i've got to work out how much water it will take.

i reckon it's about 1 uk gallon so that should be okay

I would assume most people mean US gallons - most the posts i read about tanks are from US people. I live in the UK too and get very confused lol. UK gallons aren' too much bigger, so i would have thought it would be fine >_<

Either one really. There's not really enough of a differenct in the two to really matter. Not only a gallon of water, but they should also have at least 6 square inches of surface area for good air circulation, so most vases are out.

I use US gallons when on here - It makes my tanks sound bigger
