Seeing as I have received interest for this event on a different forum post I thought I had better share it with you all.
It is a fish show and auction. I personally think this is the best auction in the country. It is so popular it is held a few times a year (last year 3 times).
There is lots on offer, fish, plants, books, equipment, fish foods, tanks etc etc. at very reasonable prices. Last years went on untill 8.30pm'ish!
It is well worth a visit. I would recommend a polystyrene box is a good idea if you have one, if not dont worry as they are usually up for sale too.

Just remember where you heard it from. I will keep you posted on other events when I can.

I'd love to go, but its too far and I don't have enough tanks or money to go to something like that... I couldn't walk away without anything :D

How is the show scene going on the mainland is there many shows now or are they few in number. I used to be a member of Bradford and District Aquarists Society when I lived overthere and we attended a fish show and auction nearly every week in the summer months. (Boy we consumed some beer). I wonder if you know if the Y.A.A.S still have their big festival in Doncaster.

Doncaster have a show and auction at the back end of the season. I have attended the last three years.
I took 'BEST IN SHOW' there last year with my goby. I had it conditioned well at the right time.

I will see you there Breezer40. You will be able to see some of my fishes in the show.

:D

fish man, i take it bascially we can look around and then bid on wha ever we see fit, i may well talk to turn down there?

You would be unable to root around the fish lots as this may cause un-necessary stress on the fish or damage.
What happens is as they are lifted out the box all bags are labelled. If you wish to view the fish you are able to go to the front and have a look. If you then want to make a bid then that's fine, if you dont there is no problem.
If fish are un-healthy they will be WITHDRAWN by the auctioneer. They will NOT sell them.
If i am interested in somethink I go and have a look, especially if i intend to be bidding high for something.
Hope to see you there.
:D
