sorry no picture for this one,

but for months i'ved noticed a tube growing ut from some liverock and it is the thickness of a thick shoelace and the colour a old apple!

I'ved just been shining a torch in my tank looking for that starfish and notived this thing was wide open ike a coral would be in the day, as soon as i put the torch on it from above it closed up again.

it opens up to something like a tube with some tentacles at the end.

any ID's? i can' get a pic of it in the dark but tomorrow i'll get a pic of what it's like during the day.

Sounds like a tunicate.

Harmless filter feeder if it is.

Here is a colony.

They will usually shy away from light as they prefer darker areas... This is one of the creatures that benefit from a darkened period of cycling your liverock when it arrives uncured. (as mentioned in another thread)

extra long day at work.(bloody air pump!)

here's a picture,

it doesn't look like your pic Navarre wen it's out, there just a single hole at the end .

from (http://www.aquashack.com/jimspics.htm)

although like i said mine has about 8 litle tentacles coming out at the end. Kind of like a daisy with only 8 petals left on.

deffinately a 'nem of some sort. There are thousands of species of apistia and majano 'nem, but im sure its one of them.
