Hi, all yesterday i brought a couple these shrimps, but just can't remember what they were called. They're a type of fan shrimp, that are currently a wee bit smaller than an adult Amano shrimp , they are a bluey-grey colour going a greenish colour on top of their body & they have really striking red eyes red eyes. Can any one help with an i'd please?

They are Atyoida pilipes or a very closely related species. They inhabit a very wide geographical area, so they vary quite a bit. Mine don’t have red eyes and they aren’t at all blue but the body shape is the same. The ones I have are bigger than amanos and smaller than wood shrimp. They can change colour and pattern to match their surroundings, mine have decided to match the bogwood and dark sand. They are pretty adaptable in terms of water hardness ph etc. Nice peaceful creatures, they can eat from the bottom if there isn’t enough for them in the filter flow.
