right now, all my bettas will deign to eat are the freeze dried bloodworms, nothing else is worthy enough of their attention. now the question, can they survive eating only the bloodworms and no pellets? don't the pellets have the nutrition that freeze dried foods don't have? i'm wondering cuz if they can survive on bloodworms, then hey...i'll let 'em do it...but if they can't, well then...

i haven't tried the hikari bio-gold, but right now i am offering the wardley pellets which are like little bb's too, they'll try 'em, you think they've downed 'em and two seconds later, they've spit 'em back out again....

Hello there,
I am not sure if you can find these anywhere near your house. but here is a link:
Blood worms

They have bloodworms and brine shrimp both in this sort of method. My betta has eaten them alternated for 3 years now. He gets mad though if he has the same thing everyday, that is why i alternate between brine and blood. These have more nutrional value than the freeze dried kinds.

hey nina, thanks for the link, we actually do have a petco quite close so i think i'll go tomorrow to pick some up and see how my guys like them. thanks for letting me know about the bloodworms/brine shrimp cuz i was starting to wonder whether they were getting everything that they would need. i'll also pick up some of the hikari's, they don't like the hbh either, but maybe a new brand will pique their interest ;)
