A few questions
Have you cycled the tank?
how big is the tank?
How many neon tetras do you have?
What type of filtration are you running?

yes

30L (small i know)

5

Don't really understand

30L = 6.6 uk gall =7.925 us gall

do you have a filter in the tank? if so what type?

ok. 1 more neon to make your group up to 6 as this is generally reguarded as the min number to keep.
for a tank that size the only thing I would add is either 3 corydoras or 4 ottocinclus
the ottos are very sensative to water conditions and should be added when the tank is at least 2 months old. corys will be slightly bigger than ottos so that is why I suggest three of them.
I HTH

would you say that is the maximum amount of fish i could have?? :(

Yeh really. your tank isnt very big so that will reflect the sort of fish you can keep in it.

i have 6 fish currently in my 20gallon tank, and to be honest it does look quite busy, but i know i can have 5c orys and 5 oto's in there, im thinking about getting a pleco though :D, one which will grow about 5-6".

If i were you i would probably get some small fish which you think are damn right cool in there own right, and wont out grow your tank.

IMHO yes
6 nens and 3 corys or 4 ottos
you could have some shrimp as well if you want that type of thing

Do corys need to be kept in groups? Like I know for ottos, the best number is 3, and as for tetras, 6...

ideally 6 for cories

a few less might be acceptable for the bigger ones ie bronze and peppered

as many as possible, 8-10 minimum, for the pygmy species eg hastatus and habrosus
