I remember seeing at my lfs this algae and it was green and sort of stringy. Well I see it growing in my tank now and can't remember the name of it, can somebody help me out?

thanks :good:

err I think not, I googled that and it looks wider and leafer than this is. This is just a thin round piece of green stuff slightly thicker than string growing from my rocks.

No not hair algae, it's growing in a group of three or by itself. It grows up straight toward the light. I'll try to get a pic later.

A pic would be great. "Green" and "Stringy" doesnt really help us out much. Possibly Chlorodesmis AKA Turtle Grass?

Maybe turtle grass but I don't think so, I know that's not the name I saw it under. I will get some pics tomorrow, had a long cold track meet today and lights are out now. Thanks for helping so far.

Here's the best picture I could get. It could be cheato but does cheato grow off rocks by itself, because this is not growing in a ball?
