My LFS had the same problem with Betta's jumping they can actually jump about a foot if you use a divider put it right up to the lid they will probably do the same in a net :byebye:

I'm going to the LFS tomorow to get some melafix (heard its better then Beta-fix)

No, same stuff. Melafix is just more concentrated, I think theres a topic about it somewhere, but its reccomended to dilute malafix for bettas.

I agree with how dangerous that can be I am a newbie here but not a fish newbie thats dangerous your gorgeous fish could have killed each other man that is so scary I can't beleive you did that

It was an accident, one fish jumped the divider and got the other one. It was not done intentionally. DD would never do anything to harm his fish.

Hey dwarf dude maybe sometimes for about 5 minutes a day you can put them together and up the time every week if they don't fight and maybe you can get them to live peacefully. :) Don't you all think the world would be a better place if males could live with males. Like maybe put about 8 male bettas with a different color in each one.........that would look awesome. :thumbs:

No the only way to get the cookies and milk is to come to the dark side and give in to multible betta syndrom. :D

Mhmhmh...If I had a cactus, would you marry a chicken?
Wait! I have a cactus!

::twitches::

I really, really hope you are kidding.

:grr:

No, why would I be kidding because it seems like they don't seem to mind each other and I thought it could be just an expiriment he/she could try. So whats the big deal because if he/she sees any aggression he/she can seperate them.

Did you completely miss the post where she said it happened again and this time they shredded each other?
It is not fair to "experiment" at the risk of your fish's life. Bettas can do serious damage to one another, and every time a fish is injured to an extent that requires medicating, you increase the chance of antibiotic resistance down the road, not to mention the effect that these antibiotics can have on the body. Anyone who would recklessly endanger thier animals like that isn't fit to own them, especially if they are just doing it for curiosity's sake. :/
Many wild types are peaceful. People who want bettas that can live together should simply aquire those.

^^

Do you know how many newbies and guest surf this board? I can gurannte more than one read that post and got missinterpeted it.... :crazy: :grr:
