My nephew as a 20 gallon tank that he got of his friend and it came with two small filter been running for three weeks, he wants to know that will it be ok to run the two filters in the same tank until he gets a bigger filter in two month for his birthday. Than he can transfer the media in to the big filter. I said it should be ok as i have a mini filter in my main tank for the Q tank.

Yep 2 filters will be fine,i run to tetratec externals on my main tank, and my fry tank has 2 internals :)

Is he going for an external filter for his birthday?,this would give a lot more space in the tank and are easier to maintain :good:

Thank's :) I will let him know and give him the choose of an External filter will have to read up about them as i now nothing about the externals.

A nice small external like a Rena XP1 would work fine for a 20 gallon tank. I have a few tanks where I am using those small filters and they perform well. I also have a tank right now that I didn't have a spare external to run. I am using 3 old fashioned box filters in it until I can get another filter set up.

I have a Aqua flow 200 and don't think it's doing the job so good, as within a couple of days the water goes a little white cloudiness? all the water tests are ok but the flow rate is only 3 times the output. So i wished i got a better filter was going to get the fluval 4 or u4, If anyone knows the Aqua flow 200 just as a sponge in it, would i be able to put the sponge in to the Fluvals? or cut it if i does not fit. Or might have to get a little filter for the other side of my tank.

Well as I said I run two of them in a 29gallon tank at full speed which is 200GPH each which puts me at 400GPH and never have any problems. I am slightly overstocked with 3 baby angels, 2 dojo loaches, 1 platy, 1 tetra, 2 rasboras, 1 dwarf gourami, and a pleco.

I don't know anything about fluval filters so I do not know if the media will go in.

You say Aqua flow.. Not sure if that is the same as AquaClear or not? Mine are aquaclear filters.
