ok ive been reading a few things and i am kinda worried as i have 2 twig catfish and they are living in my 96l tank at the mo and i know its bad for them and im saving up for a 230l for them i just really want to know if they will fit into the 230l happily if not ill need to rehome them :-(

thanks for any help :)

What else do you have in with them ?

The 96l in itself shouldn't be a problem :)

um at the moment with them i have

1 apple snail
3 neon tetras
4 dominos
1 betta - getting a new tank for him this commming week :)

when i get the new tank they will be on there own in the 96 or the 230 i dont know yet

Sounds fine to me, twig catfish aren't very active at all and most don't grow to monsterous proportions. There is a species that gets to about 10" quite easily, although most of the species found in shops rarely exceed 5", so a 96L tank would be ok as it is anyway, sounds like you are very lightly stocked.

deffinately, always better that way if you can resist filling the gaps ;) Fish with more swimming room and less competition for terratory will always be happier and healthier.

Hi nessy,

The twiggys should be fine to live in a tank that size, i have one which i think is a farlowella acus in my 400 litre with a breeding pair of bristle nose plecs, 6 otocinclus and some baby bristlies. He is around 6 inches long and tends to stay within 8 inches of his lump of wood which is in the middle of the tank. He doesn't really do any darting around and hangs off his wood, the glass, or a plant most of the time.

The only problem you could possibly have is if they run out of algae but mine is always first on the cucumber and wafers and pushes the plecs and loaches out of the way.

Hope this helps

Emma
