I have recently seen twig cats at the local IFs. After some research, I did find some data; they are peaceful, herbivorous, they belong to the same family as the plecs. Actually they look like some weird, long pleco with a big nose.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any other info! thanks!

What you saw called a "twig catfish" was more likely than not a member of the farlowella species. The link I provided is a Google results page. There should be lots of great info for you to find there!!

Farowellas are commonly known as twig catfish so both names are correct. As you already know they are closely related to plecs and need a mainly herbivorous diet. The tank should be well planted and have a gentle current, farowellas have a high oxygen requirement so a powerhead positioned near the surface to provide good water movement is essential. They are sociable so can be kept in groups, if the water is soft and acidic they will breed.
