Hello,

Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this, moving into my own place in Jan on my own, and until atleast i know what my living costs are i wont be watching Tv or paying for a licence, already confirmed with them that i wont have to pay as long as i'm not watching programs as they are being broadcasted, But i normally watch football on 'illegal' streams, well illegal for the people uploading them dunno what would happen if i got caught watching them but then ive been doing it for years so yeah, they are all on unofficial websites and usually from foreign channels, Would there be anyway of them detecting me watching those? i wont be watching actual TV or anything official on the internet, like live streaming from official websites, just stuff like 4od etc. Don't like breaking the law but need my football

Thanks

the tv licence now includes loads of other media items, so be careful they will try and stuff you for it if they think you even have a laptop or mobile smartphone, I dont think it matters if you dont watch tv officially online, its just you have the items to be able to receive any sort of tv program.

from their website

You need to be covered by a valid TV Licence if you watch or record TV as it's being broadcast. This includes the use of devices such as a computer, laptop, mobile phone or DVD/video recorder.

I wouldn't even worry, all they do is fine you the cost of a full TV licence, they even give you a warning normally before they fine.

LOL!!

So you have a rant at people who didn't donate to children in need, then announce on a public forum that you illegally stream football?

HAHA.

I'm failing to see the correlation between the two....

Anyone who cant spare a 5er must be either homeless or away with the fairies, i understand life aint easy (for 99.9% of people) but when it comes down to a few quid if you aint willing to donate then your a bit selfish IMO, considering your sat on a pc with a internet connection, in a chair in a warm house etc etc, could go on.

I only donated a 5er which is a bit of a pittance on what i could 'spare' meaning actual living costs taken away i coulda given more, but still ent so far up my own #14### that i think my problems are worse than the peoples this money is going too.

Directed at anyone who could have donated but didnt

From a member claiming that anyone who can't donate £5 whilst sitting on the computer, on the internet, in a warm house etc is either selfish, homeless, away with the fairies and up their own *****, to then admit they stream illegal content is a little bit like the pot calling the kettle. Maybe the OP should concentrate on his own legality and finances before donating a 'spare' fiver. Not really spare is it?

Maybe the reason people didn't donate anything was because they had just paid their Virgin Media/Sky Sports bill to enable them to watch the football matches legally?

Just a thought... :S

Your point still has no legs, and you're living in the past. Get rid of your grudges, it makes you unapproachable and angry.

Lol... How exactly? I am not living in the past at all. Just simply adding my opinion to a public forum... rather like Seed Lord did in the Children in Need thread. :good:

Not donating to C.I.N. isn't illegal. Unfortunately streaming content that hasn't been paid for is.

Have emailed them about this and its fine to have devices without using them to watch live programs, so they cant bust down the door cos i've got a pc and a tv with no evidence aswell as notifying them and have it in writing.

??? lol children in need and streaming football is a bit different my friend, the 13 quid or whatever a month i'd pay doesn't go to a worthy cause, least not the football teams i'm watching. And what do you suppose to do? ring the police and say Seed_Lord's streaming football? Think they'd be a bit like 'wait wut?'

Well, i dunno what your kicking off about obviously you made no donation or something? lol, I'd sooner donate the money id pay for my tv licence to a charity and stream the only thing i'd want to watch 'illegally' streamed from channels not even covered by a uk tv licence, boom.

Don't be a busy body, its not the worst crime in the world, I'm sure you've done something which 'broke the law'.

Dunno what else to say really lol your a bit of a saddistic person saying donating money to charity should come after my own personal comforts.

Lets keep this thread on track please.

As far as your having a tv and not watching live shows that's fine, if they "catch you" then the onus is on them to prove you were watching something you shouldn't, not you to prove you weren't watching anything.

As you've stated, the streaming is illegal anyway. I think not having a license, if you were caught, would be fairly immaterial to be honest.

Yeh didn't expect it to go off track.

And yep you've summed it up pretty well thanks.

I never break the law me, I'm squeeky clean! :D ;)

Good luck in your new glass house mate, I'm sure you will be fine. You can always flick on a loop of a chicken in a microwave if someone comes knocking.

Lol, so you never nicked a beer of your folks before you where 18? had a cheeky puff on a ciggy before you where 16? never dabbled with a toke on something a bit more exotic? if you drive never gone over the speed limit? Never been in the wrong lane so quickly pulled into the right one? never taken a wizz up a tree when you where out with friends as a younga? could go on, all illegal my friend. If you've never done anything like that then short answer your boring. So thanks for taking my topic off topic im done now tho, this topic can be closed deleted set on fire or whatever as i've gotten the answer i needed. Have a nice day.

Also have no idea what you mean by glass house or chicken thing, might wanna think of some comebacks people can understand.
