i went my lfs and saw some light back turtles or soommet
anyone got info on these

They probably need a lot of space and are still babies, when they will grow up they will be big from 15-30 cm (shell), that is the main info about mostly available turtles at lfs.

we used to keep three terrapins when i lived at home. you are right they will need a fairly large tank, as they grow really fast. they also need to be able to get out of the water. you will need a heater, a filter and possibly a heat lamp (although i'm not sure about that, we didn't have one, but we lived in dubai, so it was always hot!)
you won't be able to put them in a tank with your fish if that is waht you are asking!!!

I've have had many turtles and the best thing you can do before buying one is go on google or other search sites and find out their needs and requirments. Kat covered the basic setup, but some turtles require very specific needs.
