Has anyone got one? I was looking at some mississippi map turtles in the lfs and think theyre awesome. Never seen anyone post pics in the pics section

There is a reptile section, there maybe some pictures in there. i have 2 red eared sliders, a yellow bellied turtle and a little mississippi map. The mississippi map is a really great little turtle and one of the few that can be housed with fish providing you do have an excellent filtration system and a floating platform for the turtle to be able to leave the water. However, turtles do live a long while and the commitment to getting a turtle is a big one. Two of my turtles are reaching 30 years of age.

Oh dont they just grow lol. I remember my friend bringing home the two red eared turtles ( I have been looking after them the last 10 years) They were only about as big as the old 50p. They are 11" shell length now.

not sure on a height restiction, however my sister has a huge peice of bogwood where they climb out, thats half full...

Before i go of to colombia i have promised to get hold of another tank and add it on top of exsisting tank and create the tank she has full of water, then add with cylicone a glass ladder which will go up into the second tank added on top which will incorperate wood chipping and hopefully some plants with a basking area where they can chill, with basking lamps incorperated in the top with lighting..I have seen it done in one of my local fish shops, it actually looked good,as long as you cover the second floor properly with some over hanging plants dangling down, abit like this but one a much bigger scale

Thats a very nice looking tank Jay

Hiya mate, I recognised the backing stuck behind the filter lol, I gave up trying to get that off, well you can guess what a pain it was with the amount of silicon still over it. I have finally found that powerhead with the broken lead I will get it off to you, be Monday now.

One of my neighbours asked hubby this morning what happened to the tank in the garden, he had been offering to buy it for a couple of weeks, poor bloke was gutted when hubby told him I had given it away for rescue turtles lol

Is the new one a river fly or a soft shell? I cant quite tell from the pics
