Hi I'm going to be getting some Red eared sliders today,
I have done a fair emmount of reading but the one factor not popped up is if they need aclimatising,

do they need a slow pace like fish or just make sure the waters a decent temprature?
I imagine the latter but better to be safe than sorry....

Thanks in advance :)

well when i added mine i did the same as i would for fish aclimatise them aswell turtles can be more delicate then most people think specually when young :) also make sure u dont have a lid on ur tank

turtles don't need the same acclimating treatment as fish. They're reptiles and red ears are incredibly tolerant of all conditions. That's why they're able to take over natural environments all over the world.
You do want a screen over the tank, not a glass aquarium type hood. You need to provide the deepest water you can - they will not drown, they are pond turtles, but leave enough to add a basking platform, and you need to screen it over that so they can't get out. You also need to provide UVB for bone health and growth.
