What are the smallest turtles I could get? The tank is 30" x 12" x 16"...

Cheers Matt

i have a 2" yellow slider in my tank

Im not aware of any aquatic turtles regularly available in the hobby that would be suitable for a 20 gallon aquarium for any period of time.

When they are babies maybe, but plan on a tank 5-10 times that size in less than a year.

Common musk turtles barely get 5" in length but usually stay around 4 - 4.5".

I agree, Musk turtles are really the only choice for a small turtle. Yellow bellied sliders hit about 12", RES's hit about 14"+ and anything else grows above 8".

The largest turtle you could possibly fit in that tank would be a loggerhead musk turtle.
