none id say.. but i did see, in a public aquarium.. iv no idea what turtle it was, it was small, about 12-15" and it had a really cute little piggy nose, sort of grey black colour. but it was in a big brackish tank with small puffers, glass catfish, archers and pike

Agreed, keeping aquatic Chelonia with fish is basically a "no".

I know someone who keeps a red ear slider with a catfish and they're reely freindly to eachother. The problem is turtles make a big mess. I'd say no anyway.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no!
I have a Wetern Painted turtle that is just over 2 inches, he lives with numerous guppies and white clouds, 3 plecos, and 2 singapore shrimp! So far no problems and it has been a few months. My guppies are breeding like crazy too! I think my turtle is just not quite old enough......the general rule of thumb is "anything you put in a tank with a turtle can possibly be a turtle meal!"
