my turbo snaill has just decided to go out of the water and on the glass where its air why ...what shall id do.. also i tried pulling him off but i dont want to kill him as when i pull it feels like he is breaking if u know what i meen?? what should i do leaver him do to what he wants?

mine do that alot, they seem okay wen i leave them be, they usually work there way bak to safety, some half stay in half stay out, they seem all okay so far ... so im hoping there not getting damaged or anything.

If you want it to let go so you can put it back in, just gently pull and hold it untill it lets go, then press him againts the inside of the glass untill he reattaches. Make sure you don't pull too hard, or else you'll hurt it or even kill it.

i know that it just the little sod wont let go lol

someone told me to twist when you pull and its a lil easier for them to let go, but my snails are always above my water line, they always eventually make there way back in

It will probably go back in on its own, but if you need to move it, lift the shell up a tad, and push gently with your thumb and index finger on the sides of the foot. Some snails work with this done on only one side, but you'll have to do it on both sides on Turbos that have independant sides of the foot, otherwise you'll only get them to half let go. You'll have to be slow and patient. I've used this trick with all types of snails I've dealt with and it works when the snail is on a flat surface like the tank wall. It's a lot harder on smaller snails though, and when the snail is on an uneven surface that it has a better grip on.

Eeehhh....any extra tortion is a good way to injure or tear the muscle that holds them into the shell. Really it's better to poke the foot and trick them into thinking they're loosing their grip.

To pull my snails off of something, I pull up a little with their shells, but then use a side of their shell to gently 'scrape' them off. It makes them hide pretty quickly inside their shells and close their little 'trap door'.

With that said, I'm sure they'll be perfectly fine. Every so often mine stick their faces out of the water in search of anything else that might be a tasty treat. They'll learn to go back to the water in time :)

i usually just wet the area around them and slide them back and forth until they let go :good: even if you dont take the snail off, itll let go by itself eventually and fall back into the water

one of my anstrea snails has been half in half out of the water for 3 days now. Seems fine.

They'll go back of their own accord, as long as they are getting some moisture they'll be fine.
Don't go pulling and twisting them from the panes or you'll end up having to replace them as this practice could be detremental to their well being.
