Turbo Snail Question

So as some of you know, i have 2 astraea snails, a top crown, and a banded torchus snail in my tank. With the addition of the new lights, the diatoms have gotten pretty unruly. I want to keep the diatoms under control, but the turbo snails are so large, i dont want him to eat all the food away from my other snails. Is this something i have to worry about? or will 1 turbo snail be ok?

How big is the tank? Most Turbo species will deplete food sources pretty fast and will starve other snails and/or themselves by eating everything if food is scarce. Depending on the tank size, you may be better off with something other than a Turbo unless you plan to suplimentally feed the snails in the event food runs out. After seeing the kind of varied diet bigger Turbos need, I wouldn't get one just to deal with diatoms.

its a 10 gallon tank. It was kinda my suspicion that they might eat the rest of them out of house and home, so maybe i'll get something else...
