Tumor Like Growth On Side Of Female Betta

Ok, so I finally caved today and bought a female I've been eyeing for a week. I named her Sadie, shes a pink and purple CT female. I had kept talking myself out of it because she had this big growth on her side its about 1/2 centimeter big, but i don't know what it is. So can anybody help me?? its a creamy color and the area around it looks red and irritated. I'm afraid to put her in the tank with the other girls!! Advice and a diagnosis would be great!! Thanks!!

So it dosn't look like a clump of berries or cauliflower, with the red on it i would try an antibiotic like tetracycline.
