Trouble With New Erythinus

i bought a erythinus yesterday and it has been trying to jump out of my tank and smashing its face into my lid and busted its lip, is this normal? and today its lip is all white so iam assuming is a fungal infection. whats the safest and easiest way to treat fungal infections? all help is mush apreciated i realy like this fish and would be pretty pissed of if it dies.

Is its lip just white or does it look like there is cotton forming on it, or does it look like the skin is just regenerating? You might try keeping the light off for a day or two and let him acclimate to the new surroundings.
