My rescue Owl has a problem. Hes always bloated. Ive tryed feeding him less, stoping feeding him, skiping days, sometimes he loses a little weight but hardly any. What Im worried about is his weight in the rest of his body. His body behind his stomach is thin as paper. How can I help Owl?

It sounds to me like the onset of drospy. By him being bloated. I would put him in some maracyn 2 and see if this helps..

Give him a nuked (bout 15 seconds) frozen pea. De-shell it and cut it up into little pieces and see if he'll eat that. It could be constipation and the pea will clean him out! Do you have any pictures of him?

Is the anus red and inflamed, what does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet.

Its not red and/or inflamed. Hes going to the bathroom fine.

My Mikhael always has a large stomach as well, even when he has been fasted for a couple of days... I just chalk it up to old age, since it obviously isn't effecting his health :dunno:
