Yesterday, I went and bought 2 neon dwarf gouramis, and 2 pakistani loaches, the loaches keep crawling into the filter from benath the pump tube. My dad is getting something to cover the gap with. I have lost 1 neon, not sure if he's got into the filter or has been eaten. The neon that i thought was pregnant is now HUGE. Also can anyone tell me about these loaches that I bought, thank-you

Loaches are infamous for going up filters... I think it's like Salmon and going up stream, only Loaches do it for fun.

How fun your loaches are going to be - provide them with a hiding place and secure your filter from them and you will really enjoy them! :D

I have blocked the filter gap successfully!!
They are hiding underneath the rocks!!
cool dudes!! :kana:

Pakistani loaches (also commonly called Yo-yo loaches) are a barrel of fun. Great personality fish. I love 'em.

They are very skilled at getting into filters. Mine used to jump into the power filter through the spill return until I rigged a rustproof metal mesh "blocker". Even now, there are times when a couple of them will get together and work at it to knock it loose (and a couple of times they've done so). Keep an eye out that they don't remove or pull away whatever you've blocked the entrance to your filter with, because they may try. Mischeivous little buggers. Mine remind me of a ferret I used to own.

You'll enjoy them a lot.
