Hi,
I have tried to feed my BNP Algae Wafers several times before/after lights out and everytime I put it in the tank the BNP finds it and quite happily munches away. However my Platy's seem to have an aquired taste for it and appear to bite (if they can) the BNP to make her move off the Wafer. I cannot see any visible damage on the BNPs body/fins but I dont really want to wait that long. I have tried putting two Wafers in but the Platy's just divide between the two and the same thing happens! Can I just stop feeding her Wafers and just feed Cucumber etc.

Regards
Mike

Algae wafers can be used as part of the fish's diet along with cucumber, zucchini, etc.
You can also try feeding the wafers an hour after you turn the lights out. The platies should be asleep by then and the bristlenose will get the food.

Can I do it first thing in the morning, my lights dont come on till 10AM, although will the room lights wake the platys?

Mike

the room lights will keep the platies awake so you really need to do it when the tank and room is dark. Unless you have lots of platies they are unlikely to eat an entire wafer by themselves.
