I have two friendly gold fish. One fancy and one regular. They are about 5" long in a 2' x 1' tank. I really want some small fish to swim in the upper part of the tank. Pets at home recommended zebra danios or minnows. Will these get on?
My tank is about 18 degrees c.
Any help will be welcome!! :dunno:

How many gallons is that, cloud minnows, not really meant to keep tropical fish with coldwater fish but they should be fine.

i'm really sorry for getting mad about this but why the hell do people insist in keeping cold water fish and tropical fish together!!?

They're obviously NOT suited to that environment so why force them to live under stress!!?

No more fish then, 20gal alone for the common.

ive been told that wcmn prefer temps around 70-72 f. isnt this close to what golies like.....either way though there is no more room in there as i have recently learned with ny goldies.

Danios and WCMM prefer the cooler temps so its complety fine to keep them with goldfish. But you have to have the right sized tank for the goldfish before you can add more fish.

long before when I have gold fish I have kept them even with balashark and clownloach for a short period of time. And temperature were arround 74 and they seems to be ok on that temperature altho its not suggested but a few white cloud or danio can be add if you upgrade ur tank to like 25g or something bigger

danios and WCMM are classified as sub-tropical fish.
this does not mean they are coldwater fish!
