Okay i know youve had enough of me but im compiling all my questions into one topic, firstly does any one know where i can get a cheap 6 gallon fish tank suitble for triops and other invertebrates
Amano shrimp are risk to young triops, and risk to the amanos when the triops are older.
Cherry shrimp will eventually become a triops snack.
Apple snails are good, but remember they are messy, and need a cycled tank.
There's not too much that can go in with triops in a small tank, amano shrimp and snails are your best bet, but need good water conditions (the shrimp especially ).
The thing is with triops tank mates is that triops grow so fast that what seems like a good tank mate one week will be eaten the next week.
Weather or not triops can go with certain creatures depends on the actual tank.
If you're in the UK, you can buy a Fish Bowl from Wilko for about a quid fifty. They're pretty good for raising triops.
Though, as 3 fingers said -- mixing them with other things can be difficult. I wouldn't mix unless they had a big enough tank (say, 10 gallons at least) and a number of hiding spots.
When I originally set up my 10g, I sorted it with bogwood and plants around the edges to provide hiding spaces and a triops arena in the middle. I kinda went off that idea, but I might try it again sometime in the future...
