my echinodorus rose is getting a little big and I'm looking to remove some of the older and larger leaves. Should I just cut them off at the base or will this harm the plant? The common sense side of me says it will be ok but I just want to make sure.

The plant in question has gone into overdrive since I started EI and upgraded my lighting. In the last week it's sent up a flower stem which has broken the water today. Can't wait for it to flower. One of my other swords (common sword) has also started to respond positively and there's now a plantlet stalk growing nicely. And a cryp I'd forgotton all about has returned. The roots must have been there lying dormant all along. What a wonderful thing this EI malarky is :good:

I pull down on the leaves carefully and snap them off at the base. Imo, it's looks better than cutting them.
