i have a slightly semi-aggressive tank

containing:
1 red tailed black shark (m)
1 dwarf gourami (f)
1 gold gourami (f)
1 meany blue gourami (f)
1 bronze cory (m)
1 peppered cory (m)
1 spotted cory (f)

they are all peacful except the dwarf (who only nips as a thret if someone attacks her FIRST) and the blue gourami who is determined to chase down the gold gourami and spotted cory

she's a horrible little thing but she's beautiful and healthy and would make a great addition to a much larger more aggressive tank, so after living in a large breeding net for 3 days :)no: i had no choice or she was gunna kill my other fish) the pet store finally got more in and will trade her today! :hyper:

the problem is that i can't decide what i want! (i do know i want another blue gourami though)
i have a choice of a small baby blue gourami who are all slightly nippy but will be put in their place soon by the dwarf, or a full grown blue that some man brought in cause his tank cracked

i sorta want the full grown cause even though its in the store in a crowded tank will about 30 nippy babies, its still peacful and ignores them! its big and beautiful and really healthy........... the problem is, that the man has no idea what age it is, he said he bought it that big a couple of months ago......... :S

what do you guys think? can you tell if its an old geezer fish?
is it worth getting if its an older fish?

fine! i'll just add my only reply so that my post stays at the top till i'm answered!
i've got all day people :p

You have to give people time to respond.

If I were you I would go for the smaller one. The bigger one might be fine in the store tank now, but who's to say he wont lay the smack down in your tank? I always try to go small.

Tiff

I agree with Freshwatergal, go for the smaller one. Since your tank is peaceful and has an established "pecking" order, its best to add a smaller fish who won't immediately start trying to bully the others.

i went to the store and all of the smaller fish were chasing each other down.
so i went for the big one (this was before you guys told me not to get her) i talked to the manager of the store who said she is no older than 7 months
it was worth it though cause she is beautiful (even more so than the meany)
she's also very peacful and gentle :*
