they have more than 2 sides, but less than 4.

The only interesting thing I can think of right now about triangles is that they're really useful in engineering as they don't skew under pressure (by that I mean that they can't deform; like a square can be pushed sideways into a parallegram)

Does that make sense?

heres a couple for you...

If AD, BE, and CF are heights of an acute triangle and O is the orthocenter, then AD*AO + BE*BO + CF*CO = (AB2 + BC2 + CA2)/2

In any right triangle, the bisectrix of a right angle divides the angle between the median and the height of the same vertex in two equal angles.

If in a triangle, its median coincides with its height or its height coincides with its bisectrix, then the triangle is isosceles

personally i'd stick with my first one.

The isoperimetric quotient of an equilateral triangle is 0.6046

They're probably one of the strongest shapes, and as someone said before really useful in designing and Engineering a structure.

Any trigonometry book will have more about triangles than you've ever wanted to know.

And, as nice a the Pythagorean Theorem is, it is just a special case of the law of cosines: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_cosines because the law of cosines is true for any triangle, not just right triangles, it is much more useful than the Pythagorean Theorem.

Indeed sohcahtoa I scratched that into my desk when I did my GCSE. I also drank 5 redbulls and my brain was literally working 5 times faster then my hand could write really weird experience.... Don't drink coffee save the caffeine resistance until you really need the drug.
