Hi folks,

After some advise - After a fight with an unknown assailant, onw of our bettas has lost a big section of its lower fin. it got infected but we managed to treat it - or so we thought... that was about 3 months ago now.

The gap in his fin never got any better and now it looks lik the finrot has returned.

he actually has little spines showing at the base of the fins :( :(

I've started treating with salt in a quarentiene tank.

Its a 3 gal and i've added 2 teaspoons on the 17th... and its not got any better..

whats the next step ? do i redose - should I water change? (he's in a established filtered tank)

For a live-in treatment (meaning he can stay in this constantly)
1 TBSP per gallon.

For a DIP (meaning don't leave them in for over 10-15 min (20 max and that is extreme) at a time..and watch to make sure they don't pass out)
4TBSP per gallon.

Good Luck

i dont meen to be the idiot of the forum right now but isnt 1tblsp per gal alot for a betta?

For a salt bath it's one tablespoon to the gallon.
adding salt to a tank one teaspoon to the gal.
