My betta fish recently contracted fin rot unfortunately, so I began treating him. I’m kinda new to keeping bettas btw, but I started treating him with API fungus cure. It contains malachite green and acriflavine. I also have a nerite snail, so to be safe, I put him in another container which I’m unable to keep warm. I was wondering if malachite green was safe for nerite snails? I researched and found out acrifalvine is safe for them, I’m just unsure about malachite green. I’m also thinking about starting an aquarium salt treatment as well. Please let me know if you have any better options or any suggestions for anything I mentioned please! I’m sorry if this is vague also, I’m kinda stressed out with this. Please reply ASAP!
(extra details below)
Nitrites, nitrate, and ammonia are both 0. pH is 8.0, although it’s always been like that and it’s hard to get down. Besides that, everything else is within the safe range. My fish and snail live in a five gallon tank, too. Thanks!

The heater keeps the tank at 80 degrees F. My sister set up the heater, but all I know is what I just stated.
Yes, it has a filter.
The current, Im not much of an expert on that, but my best answer is that the current is moderately strong.
Yes it’s cycled
I change the water every four days
To be honest, I don’t vacuum the substrate. Never really felt the need to.
I use AquasafePlus to dechlorinate the water from my tap.
When I clean the tank, I usually take out the decor one at a time and scrub each with a toothbrush and tap water. That’s basically it.
I feed him every day with Aqueon ColorEnhancing BettaFood. Two pellets in the morning and at night, sometimes I skip feedings to keep him not overfed.
One tankmate; a nerite snail.
I’ve had my betta for nearly a year.
This is the first time he’s gotten sick.
The decor is from Petsmart, just red colored fake plants. I have a live plant, it’s an anubia.
I can’t provide any photos right now, sorry.
The questions I skipped were answered in my original post.
