treating a DP for worms

ok yesterday saw my DP had worm, portruding out of the anus I am pretty sure it is callamanus nanatode. did some research on treating for worms.

found a few active ingrediants would work

the med I was able to find at the LFS

DiscoMed, ingrediants

Levamisol, NaCI, Pipewrazine, Magnesium sulfate and Neomycin

Lavamisol was one of the active ingrediants I had found when researching so I might go with this

basically what you do is treat the food your going to give, twice a day for seven days

Just wondering

how well do puffers deal with meds?

how well do they do with medicated foods?

anyone ever had to deal with worms and can share there experience?

I havent begun treating yet, (im scared)

ok what I did was mixed one capsule with 2 oz of water as stated and added frozen blood worms, letting it all thaw and mixed it real good. let it sit for about an hour and have been feeding him from the same batch. twice a day. today was day two and I will be dumping the remander of that batch and will start a new one tommarow. as of right now there is about half of a worm he hasnt defecated yet hanging out. but should be gone in the neer futrure. I will be treeting for a week. I m so glad he hasnt really noticed the med. I've held off on feeding snails for this week. should I do this or would it be ok to mix live snails in his diet?

He'll be fine w/o snails for a week. I have had to do 2 treatments, back to back sometimes.

Update:

he no longer has worms portruding out of his butt ,

i will continue treatement for the next 4 days as prescribed by the directions, and will do a 20 % water change tommarow

this is fantastic as this is the first time meds seemed to have worked

I did notice just now that he seemed really fat, (strange the 2 ghost shrimp are gone)

well there goes clean-up crew
